Welcome!
I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Government at the University of Essex, since July 2020. Before this, I got my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Rochester in 2016, was a Post-Doctoral Associate at New York University Abu Dhabi, and spent a year at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) as an Assistant Professor in Political Science. My research focuses on comparative politics in developing countries and I am particularly interested in topics related to distributive politics and development, political accountability, clientelism, gender, and South Asia. I have published (and forthcoming work) in The Journal of Politics, The British Journal of Political Science, and Comparative Political Studies.
